ALBION - Raymond C Weber, 61 of Lake Barbara in Albion, died on Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at 5:30 A.M. at his home. Mr. Weber had been in declining health for the last 3 years.

He was born on June 5, 1949 in Fort Wayne, Indiana and was the son of Calvin R. and Barbara Jean (Asher) Weber. A lifetime Albion resident, he graduated from Albion Jefferson High School in 1967, and on June 3, 1972 he married Lynda Kratchman at the United States Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, New York. She survives in Albion.

Mr. Weber was a self emplyoed land surveyor and engineer and owned Weber LS & C in Albion, he and his wife also owned ALL Metal Manufacturing in Ligonier. He was a veteran of the United States Navy,and he graduated from the United States Merchant Marines Academy in 1971. He was a member and Past President of the Ligonier Rotary Club and was also a member of the Albion American Legion Post 242.

He enjoyed many things in his life, some of them being fishing, sailing, tractors, hunting and traveling the world. Most of all he loved watching his grandchildren play sports.

Other survivors include a daughter and son in law, Jaime and Barry Mooney of Albion, and a son and daughter in law, Ryan and Kara Weber of Albion. Grandchildren, Kaleb and Connor Mooney, and Cade and Keaton Weber. Also surviving are a brother and his wife, Leslie A and Emily Weber of Fort Wayne, and a sister and her husband, Elizabeth "Lib" and Brent McDowell of rural Avilla.

His parents preceed him in death.

A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at the Merriam Christian Chapel Church. The Rev. Terry Zolman will officate.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 31st, 2011 from 3:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Brazzell Funeral Homes, Albion Chapel 771 Trailridge Road, Albion, Indiana 46701.

Cremation will follow. Burial of ashes will take place privately at a later date at the Merriam Christian Chapel Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Merriam Christian Chapel Church or Gideons International, envelpoes will be made available at the funeral home.
