Dorcile (Peffer) Harlan

Albion - Dorcile Harlan, 96, of Albion, passed away on Sunday Sept 3, 2017 at North Ridge Village in Albion.  She was born on Sept 21, 1920 in Garrett to the late Elmer and Alta (Bordner) Peffer.  A 1938 graduate of Albion Jefferson High School, she married Kenneth Harlan on June 16, 1940 in Syracuse.  He preceded her in death in 1995.  She was elected Noble County Recorder for 4 years, and worked in the courthouse for over 15 years.  She also worked at Essex Wire.  She was a member of the Eagles Lodge in Albion and enjoyed reading.  She is survived by daughter, Karol McCoy, son, Steven Harlan, both of Albion, grandsons, Bob (Kathy) McCoy and Mike (Nicole) McCoy, and great grandchildren, Nick, Maria, Connor, Maggie, and Jack.  Funeral service will be 2:00pm Friday Sept 8, 2017 at Harper Funeral Homes, Albion Chapel, 771 Trail Ridge Road, Albion, with visitation from 12 noon until time of service Friday.  Pastor Bret Frymier officiating.  Burial at Christian Chapel Cemetery, Merriam.  Memorial donations in Dorcile’s name can be made to the Humane Society of Noble County.  To leave online condolences, visit www.harperfuneralhomes.com
