Dear Sue and Brian.

I am so sorry to hear that you lost another son and so hard to believe it is in the same month as Brian's. This is a lot to bear on your family, and I hope you can feel the support of all of us who care.  It sounds like your Nate was a great person and cared so much about other people, and making them healthy. We always want more time, but he certainly lived his to the fullest in the short time here. You can be so proud of the parents you were to him.

To the Kostielney Family,

I only learned of Nathan's passing tonight but would have paid my respects in person had I known sooner.  Nathan was a wonderful light who lit up a room with his charisma and personality.  I worked at East Noble during Nathan's high school years and he was a joy to have in class.  He was easy on a new teacher and always dependable even when you knew his penchant for mischief might have tempted him otherwise.

In your time of sorrow, depend on your memories and the laughter that Nathan was so great at creating to get you through.  No amount of sympathy or condolences can alleviate what you are feeling but the bright smile and love you shared with him can bring you solace.  Rejoice in that.

My dearest condolences,

Nate challenged me. He pushed me to be a better football player and teammate, but his passion and drive had a way of forcing you to resist complacency and become a better person. I have always been in awe of his uncompromisable passion and zeal for life. Nate brought his best every time, and he was not afraid to let you know if you were not bringing yours. I can never thank him enough for the impact he has had on my life. I will never forget Nate Kostielney because I aim to live life with a passion that he would be proud of and respect. You have my deepest sympathies, and I cannot wait for the day that I see him again.

Nate was one of the best Teammates I had ever had and a first class person. My wife and I always admired Nate for his leadership and passion. Our prayers are with your family. Below is a small writing I wanted to share about Nate:

Nate was one of the most passionate people I have ever been around. His passion for his teammates and the game was unmatched. He brought a physical dominance to the game that would go on to characterize what East Noble football has been known for: Pure Physicality.
During the run to state in 2003 Nate was the defensive leader of our team. Whether it be his pre game speeches, his helmet popping hits or his relentless pursuit for victory it always made me feel at ease that number 41 was right behind me ready to go into battle with us.
Anyone on that team or any teammate of Nate's through the years knows that Nate always put his team first. Nate was a leader and the best teammate you could ask for. I will always be grateful for those experiences and the memories from my teammates and especially Nate.
In closing, I want to thank Nate for all of the memories through the years as a teammate and person. When our paths would cross it was always good to catch up (Which I wished they crossed more). I know Nate was loved at CN and I always heard about his relentless passion for his kids and how much the people at CN loved him. Thanks Nate for the memories. Thanks for your work. Thanks for your leadership and thanks for blessing us with great memories.

We are so sorry for the loss of your son. I know you are strong people but feel so weak at a time like this, just remember Nate is always with you and his strength as a young man will help you get through this. It will be very hard- just know that he would want you to be happy. You will all be forever changed, but together you can come through strong. Your son would want that for you all. He was doing what he loved💕 My prayers are with you all. God Bless

Please accept my most sincere condolences on Nate's passing.  I was the AT Program Director at IU when Nate was in our Athletic Training Program.  I am just so glad that he was able to practice as an athletic trainer because he had such a passion for helping people.   I will miss our conversations and he will be missed by the  AT students and preceptors.
