Suzanne Marie (Ackerman) Hoover

Suzanne Marie Hoover, 86, of Rome City, Indiana, passed away on Monday, September 22, 2025, in Lagrange, Indiana. Suzanne was born on November 8, 1938, to Ralph and Mary (Black) Ackerman Sr, in Brimfield, Indiana. On January 5, 1956, Suzanne married Donald D. Hoover, in Albion, Indiana.

Suzanne enjoyed being a homemaker, during Donald’s time in the U.S. Navy. Raising her kids and spoiling her grandchildren brought her joy. She enjoyed working in her flower beds and bird watching. Suzanne also loved her pit-bull “Buddy”.

Surviving Suzanne are her sons, Jeffrey (Kim) Hoover, of Wawaka, Douglas (Karen) Hoover, of Howe, Stephen (Stacy) Hoover, of Richland Center, Wisconsin; brothers John (Toni) Ackerman, of Wolcottville and Jerry (Emilene) Ackerman, of Kentucky. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and one on the way.

Preceding her in death are her husband, Donald D. Hoover, parents Ralph and Mary Ackerman Sr., brother Ralph Ackerman Jr., daughter Mary Pfleeger, grandson Curtis Hoover, and great granddaughter Lybie Miller.

Funeral services will be held at 1p.m. on Friday, September 26, 2025, at Harper Funeral Homes, Albion Chapel, 771 Trail Ridge Road, Albion. Pastor Mike Stanley will officiate.

Visitation will be from 11a.m. to 1p.m., Friday, September 26, 2025, at the funeral home. Burial of Suzanne and Donald will be at Orange Township Cemetery, at a later date.
