Sharon K. (Woodward) Coplin, 76, of Avilla, passed away on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at her home with her family at her side. She was born on April 9, 1949, in Angola, to James and Wilda "Mary" (Carrick) Woodward. She was widely known as an area seamstress, even owning her own shop, Nancy's Stitches in Kendallville. She was a long-time member of the Order of the Eastern Star, most recently belonging to the Prentiss Chapter. Sharon also was a member of Path of Life Community Church and sang with a group called "Joy with Jesus". In her free time, she enjoyed reading and quilting.
On April 27, 1968, at Hopewell Presbyterian Church, she married Irvin Bruce Coplin, Jr. He preceded her in death on September 23, 2018.
Survivors include sons, Matthew Coplin, and Phillip (Rhonda) Coplin, and daughter Tammie (Fluke) Jones, all of Avilla. Also surviving are grandchildren, Gary Heiman, Russell Coplin, Danin & Marilyn Fluke, Justin Coplin, Andrew Jacie & Laila Coplin, Tristan Jones, Clayton Fluke, Makayla & Eric Slone, Lucas Coplin, Trayce Jones, Wyatt Coplin, and Alexis Rogers; great grandchildren, Liam Fluke, Fennec Heiman, Luca Jones, Atlanta Heiman, Samuel Slone, Peter Slone, Ameila Fluke, Eden Slone, and Noah Slone; siblings, James "Woody" Woodward, Ron Woodward, Dona Griffin-Himes, and Donita Gilbert. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and siblings, Ron and Rudy Kleinknight, Grace Smith, and Don Smith.
Funeral services will be 11:00am, Saturday, December 13, 2025, at Harper Funeral Homes, Avilla Chapel, 530 N Main St., Avilla, with visitation one hour prior. Visitation also from 2-4 & 6-8pm, Friday, December 12, 2025, with Order of the Easter Star service beginning at 6pm at the funeral home.
Sharon will be laid to rest next to her husband at the Avilla Cemetery.
