Helen “Ruth” Clifford passed away peacefully Saturday January 31, 2026. She was born March 15, 1931, in Muncie Indiana, to William and Iva (Oakley) Brower. She married George Clifford on Sept 4 1950, in Muncie. He preceded her in death on Jan 15, 2016.
Together Ruth and George built several businesses including Brunell Products of Grabill and Florida, and Indian Lakes Campground in Lagrange. Mrs. Clifford was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Avilla and formerly a longtime member of St. Vincent De Paul Parish in Ft. Wayne.
Surviving are her children, Larry Clifford of Bluffton, Sue (Tom) Cash of Ft. Wayne, Steve (Kathy) of Ft. Wayne, Karen Herman of Grabill and Tom (Connie) of Avilla and many grand-children and great-grandchildren She was preceded in death by her son-in-law Steve Herman and daughter-in-law Judy Clifford, brothers Verlie, Kenneth, Charles, Robert, John, Rex, James, Donald, Ronald, sisters Donna and Juanita.
Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Monday, March 9, 2026, at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Avilla with visitation one hour prior. Father Dave Voors will celebrate mass.
Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Avilla.
Memorials may be made to Humane Society of Noble County or to Solace Hospice Care, Roanoke.
