Robert “Bob” Placido Jr., 61 of Albion, Indiana passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, December 4, 2025. He was born on August 8, 1964, in Marion, Indiana.
Bob attended St. Henry Grade School and Bishop Luers High School in Fort Wayne, Indiana graduating in 1983. He loved playing basketball at Bishop Luers and carried that passion for sports throughout his life. After earning certificates in the Tool & Die Trade, he worked in Indianapolis before returning to Northeast Indiana. He later became part of the maintenance crew at Augusta Hills Golf Club. Most recently, Bob worked in painting and proudly joined the International Painters and Allied Trades Industry.
Bob enjoyed the simple meaningful things in life -fishing and hunting and spending time with his friends, whether casting his bobber on the water or sitting quietly in a tree stand. He was a humble, kind and gentle man. A lifelong sports enthusiast, Bob competed in many golf tournaments sanctioned by the Indiana Golf Association and spent countless hours at the baseball fields as both a spectator and former player. One of his greatest joys was watching Tyler and later Weston play baseball. Bob was deeply devoted to Tyler and took pride in being involved in his family’s sporting events.
Bob is survived by his parents, Robert and Nancy (Weigand) Placido; his chosen son, Tyler Skinner (Kayla Watts) and grandson Weston Skinner. He is also survived by his sisters, Donna (Eric) Pedersen and Kathy Brown (Nancy Savage); along with many nephews and nieces and friends that loved him dearly. He is also preceded in death by his grandparents, Thomas and Madeline (Pace) Weigand; and his brother, Steven “Steve-O” Placido.
