Ricky "Rick" Allen Ross, 67, of Avilla, Indiana passed away on Friday May 24, 2024 at his home surrounded by his children. He was born on December 11, 1956 in Garrett, Indiana to Richard and Margaret (Cleland) Ross. Rick was an East Noble High School graduate. His professions included Engineering and Machinery Technician which took him many places professionally and through travel. He was a fearless entrepreneur, owning a variety of businesses over the years. He was a craftsman and could build, repair or figure out just about anything. Ultimately he retired from American Binders LLC, a company that he owned and operated. He enjoyed fishing on his boat, remodeling his home and spending time with his family.
He was a very proud Dad, Papaw, Brother and Uncle. His grandchildren were the light of his life. He enjoyed attending their sporting events, concerts, and taking them fishing.
He is survived by his son, Chad Ross of Fort Wayne, and daughters Brooke (Mike) Bentley of Rome City, Jenna (David) Johnston of Auburn, and Katie Ross of Kendallville; his beloved German Shepherd, Little Orphan "Annie"; his grandchildren, Mikayla Ross, Kaylee (Devon) Bentley, Damon Bentley, Maddi Johnston, Kohlbee Johnston, Dean Johnston, Gunner Burkley and Laken Burkley; Great grandson, Matthew Allen Nichols; brothers, Gary (Susan) Ross of Laotto, Terry (Candi) Ross of Churubusco and three nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Margaret Ross and nephew Adam Ross.
In keeping with Rick's wishes, no services are scheduled at this time.
