Rachel (Goggans) Hile

Rachel Marie Hile, 52, of Albion, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, in Albion. Rachel was born on September 22, 1972, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, to Thomas and Marilyn (Jackson) Goggans. She graduated with her associate’s degree in occupational therapy, from Brown Mackie College.

Rachel’s passing was an unexpected and heartbreaking loss for the family, and she will be dearly missed by her four children and many loved ones.

She lived a full and vibrant life, filled with the things she loved most — her family, friends, and her favorite pastimes. Rachel cherished every moment spent with her children, whether it was cheering them on at sporting events, taking joyrides in her Jeep, or spending time outdoors fishing, swimming, kayaking, and sledding.

At home, Rachel found joy in the simple things: grilling, cleaning, tending to her beautiful porch flowers, and sharing time with her five beloved dogs.

She also loved going out with friends — whether to watch car racing, go shopping, enjoy a meal, or grab coffee. Music, singing, dancing, and her favorite TV shows always brought her joy.

Rachel’s laughter and love filled every room she entered, and her energy and spirit will be remembered and deeply missed by all who knew her.

Surviving Rachel are her children Tyler Skinner, of Millersburg, Rylin (Malchai McBride) Hile, of Albion, Abigail Hile, of Albion, and Haddi Hile, of Albion; sisters Tracy (DJ) Thieme, of Albion, Robin (John) Urso, of Albion, Debbie (Robin) Murray, of Fort Wayne, and Pamela Howard, of Florida; and grandson Weston Skinner.

Preceding her in death are her parents Thomas and Marilyn Goggans, sisters Cheryl Gonzalez, Laura Huff, and Ruby Shepherd, brothers Clinton “Buzzy” Goggans and Tommy Goggans, and lifelong friend Howard.

A celebration of Rachel’s life will be 3:00pm to 7:00pm, Friday, August 29, 2025, at Harper Funeral Homes, Albion Chapel, 771 Trail Ridge Road, Albion.
