ALBION — Phyllis Ann Cole, 84, of Albion, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 15, 2024, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.
She was born on March 18, 1940, in Brimfield, Indiana, to Paul and Veda Pauline (Grunden) Kimmell. Phyllis was a lifetime member of Brimfield United Methodist Church. She worked at Essex Wire for many years, and enjoyed farming, camping, bowling, and going out for dinner. Phyllis also loved attending sporting events.
On May 6, 1966, near Ligonier, Indiana, she married Rex Cole. He survives in Albion.
Also surviving are a son, Rex (Beverly) Cole Jr., of Albion; grandchildren, Desiree King and Kayden Cole; and sisters, Ola Crain, of Warsaw, Sandy Groves, of Wawaka, Sharon (Ron) Karlstadt, of Ney, Ohio, and Gloria Kimmell, of Wawaka. She was preceded in death by infant daughters, Rhonda and Rita; brothers, Cecil, Frank and John; sisters, Betty Smith, Beatrice Bahls and LaVorna Fulk.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at Harper Funeral Homes, Albion Chapel, 771 Trail Ridge Road, Albion, with visitation one hour prior.
Visitation will also be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., on Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2024, at the funeral home.
