Pauline (Holm) Staton

Pauline Staton, 86, of Ligonier, Indiana, gained her angel wings, surrounded by those who loved her on Thursday, August 21, 2025, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Pauline was born on January 12, 1939, in Ligonier, Indiana, to the late James and Margaret (Raleigh) Holm. Pauline married the love of her life, James Staton, on June 8, 1957, in Ligonier, Indiana. They shared 68 beautiful years together.

Pauline was known as mom and grandma to many. Her smile would light up the room. Her kindness, caring, and love shined through. She was the glue that held her family together which includes a son Wesley Staton, of Albion; two daughters Cindy (Kevin Steele) Staton, of Albion, and Laura Thompson, of Albion. She was also a proud grandmother to 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren with one on the way, 2 great-great-grandchildren; sister Marjorie Fleck, of South Carolina; brother-in-law Danny (Julie) Staton, of Goshen; sister-in-law Pam Staton, of Goshen; special bonus children Brian and Twlia Smith, and Randall and Chris Kirkpatrick; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents James and Margaret Holm, brother-in-law Larry Staton, sister-in-law Bonita Lemon, and great grandson August Staton.

Services for Pauline will be held at 1:00pm, Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at Harper Funeral Homes, Albion Chapel, 771 Trail Ridge Road, Albion. Pastor Austin Gilliland will officiate.  Burial will follow at Sparta Cemetery, in Kimmell, Indiana. Visitation will be held from 11:00 to 1:00pm, Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at the funeral home.
