Patrick A. "Pat" Teders

Avilla - Patrick A. "Pat" Teders, 74, of Avilla, passed away on Friday, December 18, 2020 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.  He was born on June 22, 1946, in Garrett, to Arnold and Bertha (Karasiewicz) Teders.  Pat was a 1964 graduate of Avilla High School and served his country in the US Navy, including two tours in Vietnam.  He retired after 21 years.  He worked as an electrician with Dana Corporation in Ft. Wayne for 30 years.  Pat was a member of the Avilla Lion Club, the Avilla Redevelopment Commission, Avilla American Legion Post #240, and was a Melvin Jones Fellow.  Pat belonged to the First Church of Christ in Garrett. 

On Feb 17, 1968, in Ft. Wayne, he married Suzanne Hoffman.  She survives in Avilla.  Also surviving is a son, Michael (Kathy) Teders of Mooresville, IN; daughter, Kristina (George) Piche of Camby, IN; grandchildren, Alex Teders, Grace Teders, Katelyn Piche, and Gabrielle Piche; brothers, Ted (Susan) Teders of Columbia City, and Dennis (Shirley) Teders of Colorado Spring, CO; and sisters, Rosie (Tim) Worman of Wolcottville, Kathryn (Dennis) Kline of Kendallville, and Pam (Ben ) Henderson of Auburn.  He was preceded in death by his parents. 

Funeral service will be 10:00am, Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at First Church of Christ, 213 E King St., Garrett, with visitation one hour prior to service.  Brother Bud Owen will officiate.  Visitation also from 2-4 & 6-8pm, Tuesday. December 22, 2020 at Harper Funeral Homes, Avilla Chapel, 530 N Main St., Avilla.  Those attending the funeral or visitation will be required to wear face masks covering the nose and mouth and social distancing will be enforced.  Burial with military honors will be at Christian Union Cemetery, rural Garrett.
