Nannie Bricker

Nannie Bricker, of Kendallville, Indiana, formerly of Albion, Indiana, passed away on Friday, Sept. 27, 2024, at Lutheran Life Villages in Kendallville.

She was born on Aug. 1, 1925, in Jellico, Tennessee, to Phillip and Lydia (Petrey) Douglas.  She had worked in nursing at area nursing homes and hospitals over the years.

She was a member of the Albion Wesleyan Church and dedicated time to reading her Bible.  She also enjoyed reading Westerns, spending time with her church family, and shopping. She especially enjoyed the time she was able to spend with her grandkids and great-grandkids.  Nannie was a long time member of the Wolf Lake VFW #4717.

Survivors include her son-in-law, Harry Taylor, of Albion, Indiana; daughter-in-law, Joyce Kerman; grandchildren, Mark Hunter, Penny Rogers, Robert Welch, David Welch, Scott Welch and Tara Cooper. Also surviving are great-grandchildren, Charis and Jillian Hunter, Michael Rogers, Tessa Welch, Jalen and Jordan Cooper, Sabrina Welch, Gary Rowan and Rafe Welch, Richie Worman, Hailey Rogers, Hunter and Brayden Koehl, Willa Repine, Lilli Mapes, and Jace and Nevaeh Cooper. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; several siblings; sons, Charles Welch and John C Welch; daughters, Linda Taylor and Emma Sue Welch; grandson, Jeffrey Hunter, and great-grandchildren Madison Cooper and Christian Rogers.

Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., on Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2024, at Albion Wesleyan Church, 800 E. Main St., Albion.  Pastor Sam Maddox Jr., will officiate.  Visitation will also be at the church on Tuesday from 11 a.m., until service time.  Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery, Albion.
