Rome City – Mickie Godsey, 62, of Rome City, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, December 27, 2025. He was born on October 3, 1963, in LaGrange County, Indiana to I.B. and Linda (Perkins) Godsey. Mickie had most recently worked in the RV industry as a group leader. He was mechanically talented and enjoyed working on cars or tinkering with something that needed fixing. He loved music and played it loud enough for his neighbors to enjoy it with him. Playing video games was his favorite way to pass the time.
He married Delaura (Lantz) in 1991 and they celebrated 34 years of marriage. Survivors include his wife, Delaura Godsey of Rome City; son, Dustin (Andi) Godsey of Syracuse; daughter, Brandie (Nash) Rice of Albion; stepsons, Ron Maggert of Wawaka, Dustin (Barb) Maggert of Osceola, IN, and Jason (April) Maggert of Cromwell; and 15 grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister, Mary Ruth (Ashley) Godsey of Columbia City; stepbrother, Mike (Donna) Millberg of Syracuse; stepsisters, Becky Dramani and Jennifer (Brian) Dial both of Albion. Mickie was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held from 3-7pm on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at Harper Funeral Home, Albion Chapel, 771 Trail Ridge Road, Albion. In keeping with Mickie’s wishes, cremation will follow.
