Max W Albaugh, 78, of Kendallville, Indiana, passed away on Monday, January 13, 2025, surrounded by those he loved. On February 20, 1946, Max was born to Thurlow and Ruth (Iddings) Albaugh, in Kendallville.
Max enjoyed watching NASCAR and visiting the local racetracks. He liked to play cards and mowing his yard. Max also enjoyed watching theater productions, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include sons Ken (Kim) Albaugh, of Lebanon, Tennessee, and Reuben Albaugh, of Fort Wayne; daughters Ruthie (Brad Loy) Strater, of South Milford, and Kathy (Bob) Wentworth, of Auburn; grandchildren Ashley (Cody) Santiago, Morina (Zach) German, Steven Anderson, Brandon (Morgan) Strater, Tyler (Alicia) Baker, Meghan (Brian) Bobilya, Khloe Wentworth, and Jolene Wentworth; great-grandchildren Micah Santiago, Kolbie Anderson, Nova Strater, Lukas German, Kyndall Anderson, and Allen German.
Preceding Max in death are his parents Thurlow and Ruth, brother Richard Albaugh, sister Patty Albaugh, son Allen Albaugh, and Gloria Payton.
Funeral service will be 3:00pm, Friday, January 17, 2025, at Harper Funeral Homes, Avilla Chapel, 530 N Main St, Avilla. Pastor Mike Albaugh will officiate. Visitation will be 4:00-8:00pm, Thursday, January 16, 2025, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Mt Pleasant Cemetery, in rural Kendallville, at a later date.
Donations in Max’s memory may be made to the Arena Dinner Theater, in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
