Matthew L. "Matt" Coney

Avilla- Matthew L. “Matt” Coney, 44, of Avilla, IN passed away on April 2, 2021 in his home. He was born on April 12, 1976.

Matt loved spending his time outdoors while entertaining family and friends especially by the pool with a cold drink in his hand. If he wasn’t by the pool or running his kids to sporting events you could find him on his Harley. He had an incredible sense of humor and loved music. Matt was an avid member of the Avilla American Legion Post 240.
 

Matt married Randi Black on September 19, 2015. They shared the last 9.5 years together with their children Kelsey, Reece, and Grace. Matt adored his children and everything he did surrounded them.

Matt is survived by his wife Randi, their children Kelsey, Reece and Grace, His mother Marilyn (Jim) Carunchia, Grandmother Patricia Coney, along with many other family and friends who loved him dearly. He is preceded in death by his Grandfather William Coney.

Funeral service will be held 11:00am on Thursday, April 8, 2021 at Harper Funeral Homes, Avilla Chapel, 530 N Main St., Avilla, with visitation one hour prior.  Scotty Ritchie will officiate.  Visitation will also be from 3-7pm on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at the funeral home.  Burial will be at the Avilla Cemetery. 

Contributions in Matt's memory may be directed to the Sons of the Avilla American Legion Post #240 or the Ladies Auxiliary of Post #240.
