Marion “Bud” Halferty, 96, of Albion, Indiana, passed away on January 10, 2025, in Kendallville, Indiana. Bud was born on May 3, 1928, to Iden and Belva (Workman) Halferty, in Rome City, Indiana. On May 27, 1949, Bud married Nancy Reed, she precedes him in death.
Bud enjoyed woodworking and was known as a jack of all trades. He enjoyed bowling in leagues and was a member of the Albion Eagles.
Survivors include sons Jeff (Sandy) Halferty, of Wolcottville, Matt (Cathy) Halferty, of Garrett, and Richard (Laura) Halferty, of Sumter, South Carolina; daughters Cindy Gaff, of Rome City, and Connie Owens, of Wolcottville; 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Proceeding Bud in death are his wife, Nancy, parents Iden and Belva, brother Lynn, sister Vivian, and grandsons Jonny Owens and Clayton Gaff.
Funeral service will be at 11am, Friday, January 17, 2025, at Harper Funeral Homes, Albion Chapel, 771 Trail Ridge Road, Albion, with visitation one hour prior to service. Pastor Chris Coney will officiate. Visitation will be from 2:00-5:00pm, Thursday, January 16, 2025, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Mt Pleasant Cemetery in rural Kendallville.
Memorials in Bud’s memory may be made to Ligonier Christian Church.
