Leslie Wayne “Les” Coe, 77, of Albion, Indiana, passed away with his wife and family by his side, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.
He was born on Oct. 20, 1947, in Kendallville, Indiana, to Chester L. and Dorothy M. (Cary) Coe.
Les was a 1966 graduate of Albion Jefferson High School and later received a degree in Civil Service from Lincoln Tech. He was employed by many companies throughout his lifetime, most recently retiring from Parker Hannifin in 2024.
He had many hobbies and interests including gardening, farming, 4-H, putting together puzzles, and string artwork. For the first 28 years of his life, Leslie belonged to Mt. Pleasant Lutheran Church, rural Kendallville. Since then, he has belonged to Asbury United Methodist Church in Albion.
On Oct. 12, 1974, at Asbury United Methodist Church, he married Diana Lynn Hawk. She survives in Albion. Also surviving is a sister, Sharon Olds, of LaGrange; brother-in-law, Darl Hawk, of Albion; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Dorothy Coe; brother-in-law, Robert Olds; and brother and sister-in-law, Carey Lee and Vanita Coe.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 23, 2025, at Harper Funeral Homes, Albion Chapel, 771 Trail Ridge Road, Albion, Indiana, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Pastor Bret Frymier will officiate. Visitation will also be held from 3-7 p.m., on Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2025, at the funeral home. Les will be laid to rest next to his family members at Sweet Cemetery, rural Albion.
Contributions in his memory may be directed to Mt. Pleasant Lutheran Church or Asbury United Methodist Church.
