Kevin McCoy Obituary

Kevin McCoy, 71, of Albion, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 19, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family, after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease. Born on July 18, 1954, in Garrett, Indiana, Kevin was the son of Donald and LaVera McCoy. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald McCoy, and is survived by his mother, LaVera McCoy. Kevin shared 51 years of marriage with his wife, Diane Joy McCoy. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, hard work, and unconditional love. He was a devoted father to Missy (Mark) Maldeney, Angie (Troy) Mynhier, CeeJay (Jennifer) McCoy, and Jacob Delong. His greatest joy was being “Grandpa” to his cherished granddaughters, Payge Mynhier, Kyndal Mynhier, Hadley Maldeney, and Harper Maldeney. Nothing brought a bigger smile to his face than spending time with them and watching them grow. Kevin is also survived by his brothers, David (Lynn) McCoy and Mark (Mary) McCoy; his sisters, LeAnn (Tim) Conley and Lynette (Dan) Gottfried, Lori (Mike) Stout; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who loved him dearly.

For 41 years, Kevin worked faithfully at Tenneco Automotive, where he was known for his strong work ethic, dependability, and dedication. Outside of work, he found happiness in the simple things in life. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved being outdoors. Whether he was farming, mushroom hunting, working on tractors, or tinkering in his barn, Kevin was happiest with dirt on his boots and a project to keep his hands busy. More than anything, Kevin will be remembered for his generous heart. He was the kind of man who would truly give you the shirt off his back, never expecting anything in return. If someone needed help, Kevin showed up. His quiet acts of kindness, steady presence, and willingness to serve others left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. Though Parkinson’s challenged his body, it never diminished his spirit, his love for his family, or his unwavering faith. While his family grieves his absence, they find comfort knowing that Kevin’s struggle is over and that he is now at peace, whole again, and in the presence of his Savior.

His legacy of hard work, humility, generosity, and love for family will live on in the lives of those he touched.

“Well done, good and faithful servant.” — Matthew 25:23
