Kathleen Marie Kress

Kathleen (Kathy) Marie Kress, 76, of Avilla, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, January 15, 2026, in Avilla. Kathy was born on June 30, 1949, to John and Francis (Shafer) Kress, in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Kathy held great love for her family and was a spiritual guide to all who came into her social circle. She was always on the cutting edge of fashion, not only in her style, but in small things, such as eyeglass frames. She showed her artistic talents by painting in oils and china. She also loved music and performed with various choirs in the area including Sweet Adelines and the Lincoln Company Chorus. Kathy was employed at Lincoln National Corporation for many years as a program analyst.

Surviving Kathy are her daughters Sarah (Dan Sexton) Adams, of Elkhart, IN, and Holly (Chad) Kendrick of Chicopee, MA; granddaughter Jessica Bates, and great-granddaughter Kaija.

She is preceded in death by her parents John and Francis, and brother Michael Kress.

There will be no services at this time.
