June L Treble

Albion – June L Treble, 69, our dearest “Junebug” passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2026, at Sacred Heart Village Nursing Home in Avilla.  June was born in September 17, 1956 at Lucky Hospital in Wolf Lake to the late Roy and Alice Loena (Egolf) Starkey.  She grew up in Wolf Lake and graduated from Central Noble High School in 1975.  June lived and raised her two daughters at her home in Wolf Lake.  She worked various jobs including factory, house cleaning, cake decorating at DQ, and Wolf Lake Marathon.

In October 2008, she was diagnosed with meningitis that left her paralyzed from the waist down.  June moved to Northridge Village Nursing Home in 2015 and resided there until the facility closed in 2021.  She then moved to Sacred Heart Home in Avilla.  Even with all her medical issues over the last 17 years she was always ready to go watch her grandkids sporting events.  June loved her family more than anything.  She enjoyed gathering for birthdays and holidays, making cookies and candy – especially her famous Christmas Tree cookies.  She loved butterflies and sea turtles, doing crafts, decorating her door, coloring, playing bingo, Yahtzee, farkle, and euchre.

June is survived by her daughters, Lori (Tim) Deck of Albion and Jill (Aaron) Coy of Kimmell; grandchildren, Garren (Britteny Tucker) Deck, Lucas (Ava) Deck, Tysen Deck, Lauren Coy, Harper Coy, and Luka Coy; and great grandchildren, Adela Deck and Kohen Deck.  Also surviving are sisters, Melba (John) Moorhouse, Lois Starkey, and Lana (Jerry) Jacobs; brother, Russel (Mollie) Starkey; and many nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings, Shirley Beard, Roy “Bud” Starkey, David Starkey, John Starkey, Sharon Fear; companion, Skippy Altimus; and ex-husband, Don Treble.

Funeral service for June will be 4:00pm, Saturday, April 18, 2026, at Harper Funeral Homes, Albion Chapel, 771 Trail Ridge Road, Albion.  Tom Novy will officiate.  Visitation will be held from 1:00pm until 4:00pm, Saturday at the funeral home.  Burial will take place at a later date at Christian Chapel Cemetery, Merriam.
