Albion – Julia Mae Foote, 75, of Albion, passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at Parkview Noble Hospital in Kendallville. She was born at the Lucky Hospital in Wolf Lake, Indiana, to Vinton and Doris (Traster) Harris. Julia was an LPN who began her career in Huntington, and continued nursing for 42 years at McCray Memorial Hospital which later became known as Parkview Noble Hospital. On May 11, 1974, at Oak Grove Church of God in Columbia City, she married William Foote. Julia loved puzzles, watching Jeopardy (of which she was the family champion), and spending time at her grandkids events. She also enjoyed watching the Chicago Cubs and IU sports, especially basketball and football. Julia also was a great cook – even making her own candy around the holidays.
Survivors include her husband of 52 years, William of Albion; son, David (Lynette) Foote of Goshen; daughter, Sara (Wesley) Cooper of Ft. Wayne; and grandchildren, Ayden Cooper and Briana Cooper; and Nathan Foote. Also surviving are brothers, Les Harris of Goshen and Bill (Cathy) Harris of Munster; and sister, Kris (Tom) Scott of North Carolina. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Lynn Harris, Dean Harris, and Marvin Harris.
Funeral service will be 11:00am, Friday, May 15, 2026, at Albion Wesleyan Church, 800 E Main St., Albion, with visitation one hour prior to service. Pastor Sam Maddox will officiate. Visitation also from 3-7pm, Thursday, May 14, 2026, at Harper Funeral Homes, Albion Chapel, 771 Trail Ridge Road, Albion.
