Joy Anne Sneary, 95, of Kendallville, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at Orchard Point Nursing Home, in Kendallville. Joy was born on March 15, 1931, to Charles and Verda (Baker) Preston, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. On April 4, 1950, she married Max Sneary, in Kendallville. He precedes her in death.
Joy, in her younger years, worked at the Indiana State House. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She took pride and enjoyment in her family, home, and community, which she always did with so much love. Sundays were all about family time spent together. Joy enjoyed event planning and entertaining both family and friends. She was the heart of her family.
Surviving Joy are her daughters Jennifer (Steve) Cooper, of Kendallville, and Candice (David) Barbulesco, of Mishawaka; grandchildren Erin (Josh) Streich, Ashley (Aaron) Lash, and Adam (Meghan) Bryan; great-grandchildren Kendyl (Garrett Maag) Garton, Kylie Garton, Kane Garton, Layna Lash, Brody Lash, Logan Bryan, Landon Bryan, and Trigg Bryan.
Preceding Joy in death are her husband Max Sneary, parents Charles and Verda Preston, and her brother Charles Preston.
A family-led Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
