Joseph "Joe" Sumner

Avilla - Joseph A. "Joe" Sumner, 45, of Avilla, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Avilla on Thursday April 30, 2020.  He was born on December 24, 1974 and raised by his foster parents, Paul and Barbara Wurm.  On August 24, 2013, in Kendallville, he married Beth Carteaux.  Joe had most recently been working for Troyer Brothers as a welder.  He loved to fish, and was always keeping busy tinkering with one project or another.  He and his wife attended Destiny Family of Faith in Kendallville.  Survivors include his wife, Beth Sumner of Avilla, daughter, Tabitha Ann, sons, Alex and Kayden, all of Avilla.  Also surviving are brothers, Wayne Sumner of Kendallville, and Adam Wurm of Arizona; sisters, Leslie Cearbaugh of Auburn, Valerie Burns of Ft.
