John L Stump Jr.

John L Stump Jr., 61, of Kimmell, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at his home in Kimmell. On September 7, 1964, John was born to John Stump Sr. and Carol (Teeple) Treft, in Columbia City, Indiana. John married Rebecca “Becky” Gard, on June 23, 1990, at the Church of the Brethren, in Kosciusko County.

John served on the Noble Township Fire Department, from 2002 to 2012. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and watching trains. John also enjoyed watching stock car racing at several local racetracks. He also enjoyed working on stock cars for family and friends.

Surviving John are his wife Becky; son Tyler (Niki Frieden) Stump, of Plymouth, Indiana; brothers Todd (Dawn) Stump, of Cromwell, Indiana, Cory (Kaitlyn) Stump, of Goshen, Indiana, Louis Stump, of Warsaw, Indiana; sisters Tina (Craig) Streby, of North Webster, Indiana, Daleen (Jeff) Mast, of Warsaw, Indiana; half-sisters Misty (Tyler) Simerl, Charity (Dustin) Cordill; brother-in-law Delmer (Pati Castillo) Gard, of Garrett, Indiana, Trevor (Irena) Gard, of Cromwell, Indiana, Chad (Wendy) Gard, of Huntsville, Alabama; half-brothers Marlen (Brenda Reiff) Waldridge, Keith Waldridge; sister-in-law Deborah Dills, of Wolcottville, Indiana; stepmother Terri Stump, of Warsaw, Indiana; grandchild Braxton Stump; and several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Preceding John in death are his parents John and Carol, sister Jean Hopkins, brother-in-law Monty Gard, half-sister Brandy Busz, and a grandchild in 2019.

A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
