“In my distress I prayed to the Lord and the Lord answered me and set me free!” Psalm 118:5
AUBURN — Imogene "Ima" Greer (Hall), 54, of Auburn, Indiana, was set free and passed on Sunday, June 6, 2021, after an 11-month battle with Bulbar ALS.
Imogene was born in Prestonburg, Kentucky, on Jan. 22, 1967, to Emery Hall and Phyllis Jean Williams.
She was joined with her soulmate on Feb. 14, 1991, when she married Pastor Earl Greer. Her husband was truly her best friend, staying side-by-side during their 30-year marriage. He was beside her during her earlier battle with colon cancer in 2018, and her never wavering caregiver during her war with ALS.
Only the love she had for God, could surpass the love she carried for her husband, daughter, grandbabies, family and friends. Being a devoted Christian since 1996, Imogene loved to sing hymns. Sounding like an angel, her singing could move you to tears.
In 2010, she became a member of Fellowship Bible Church, Albion, Michigan, where her husband pastors. She spoke often of Christs’ undying love and her longing to go home where her pain and suffering would be no more. Only worrying about those she was leaving behind. To know her was to love her. Those who were blessed with her presence in life will miss her gentle nature, her contagious laughter and the unconditional love she gave.
Imogene is survived by her loving husband, Earl Greer, of Auburn, Indiana; daughter, Bridgette (Brad) McClish, of Huntertown, Indiana; granddaughters, Makayla McClish and Lindsey Zeiger, of Huntertown, Indiana; grandson, Bryson McClish, of Huntertown Indiana; step-grandson, Logan Zeiger, of Rochester Indiana. She is also survived by five brothers, Clifford (Kathy) Hall, Jamey Clauson and Jason Clauson, all of Kendallville, Indiana, Paul Clauson, of Salem, Ohio, and Clifton Gamble, of Corunna, Indiana; sister, Angela Clauson, of Fort Wayne, Indiana; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, her in-laws; and her brothers and sisters in Christ.
She was preceded in death by her father, Emery Hall; mother, Phyllis Jean Williams; father-in-law, Thomas Rose; and baby sister, Tina Sue Clauson.
