Helen Campbell Obituary

HELEN J. CAMPBELL, 79, of Tri Lakes, Columbia City, died peacefully  on Saturday, Jan. 2, 2021. Born Dec. 10, 1941, she was a daughter of Jack and Virginia Robinson.  She grew up in Fort Wayne with brother John and sister  Nancy (Jerry) Klaehn. A proud 1960  graduate of South Side High School, Helen married her high school sweetheart, Donald E. Campbell, on June 23, 1962. She was a loving, devoted wife of 58 years. Helen dedicated her life to her family, volunteer work, and sang in her church choir for several years. She was an avid reader who loved mysteries, playing cards and games with her friends and family, playing the organ and banjo, and the serenity of lake life.

Helen had a zest for life and was a wonderful mother of three children, Deborah (Mike) Densel of Fort Wayne, Catherine (Ray Redington) Garrison of Warsaw and Bradley (Bekah) Campbell of Beaufort, S.C. Helen was a proud, loving and active grandmother "Mimi" of seven grandchildren, Tara (Arrand) Johnston of Fort Wayne, Hannah Densel (deceased), Ryan (Natalie) Garrison of Leesburg, Taylor (Westin) Becker of Fort Wayne, Charity Grace and Caleb (Joy) Campbell, both of South Carolina, and Ean (Jessica) Redington, Claypool; and nine great-grandchildren, Lyric, Bronx, Brogan and Lennox Johnston, Hally and Phoenix Garrison, Ezra Becker, Levi and Lily Redington. Helen is also survived by her two dear brothers-in-law, Jerry (Susan) Klaehn of Knoxville, Tenn., and Russ Campbell of Fort Wayne; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and cousins, all of whom she also loved dearly. Along with her parents, siblings; sister-in-law, Patty Campbell; and beautiful granddaughter, Hannah, Helen was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Allan Campbell; and great nephew, Thomas Klaehn. "She will be truly missed by all who knew her, as all loved her." The family is overwhelmed with thanks to so many dear friends who have reached out with love.

A private family service will be held in Helen's honor.  She will be laid to rest at Rose Hill Cemetery in Albion.  Personal messages of condolence may be shared on Helen's page at www.harperfuneralhomes.com.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in memory of Helen may be directed to the Heartland Hospice Memorial Fund,  1315 Directors Row #210, Fort Wayne, IN 46808 or the Alzheimer's Association.
