Gary Dean DuBois

Gary Dean DuBois, 70, of Albion, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at Neuro Restorative Rehabilitation in Ypsilanti, Michigan.  He was born to Harry and Betty (DeLong) DuBois on April 2, 1955, in Kendallville, Indiana, as a twin. He graduated from Central Noble High School in 1974.

Gary married Doreen Moore on June 16, 1979, in Garrett, Indiana.

He drove truck for numerous companies up until July 1995, when he was involved in a racing accident at Avilla Motor Speedway that resulted in a Traumatic Brain Injury that left him severely disabled. He then resided at Neuro Restorative in Michigan until his passing.

Gary is survived by his wife of 46 years, Doreen; children, Sue DuBois, Holly (Carey) Burns, Justin DuBois and Gavin DuBois; 10 grandchildren, Hailey, Tedra, Tate (Madison), Seth, Faith, Isabella, Ethan, Cole, Brynleigh and AnnMarie; and nine great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his twin brother, Larry DuBois; sisters, Kim (Jeff) Antrup and Mary (Jim) Gray; mother-in-law, Carol Carwile; father and mother-in-law, James and Sharon Moore.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Betty DuBois; brothers, Michael, Robert and Billy; grandson, Lane Burns; and great-grandchildren, Trent Macon and London Thomas.

Visitation will be held from 2-6 p.m., on Sunday, May 18, 2025, at Harper Funeral Homes, Avilla Chapel, 530 N. Main St., Avilla, with a time to share from 5:30-6 p.m.

Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery, Albion, at a later date.
