Donna L (Smart) McCoy

Donna L McCoy, 69, of Albion, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, in Columbia City, Indiana. Donna was born on April 21, 1957, to Donald and Mary (Wolfe) Smart, in Kendallville, Indiana. On September 28, 1984, Donna married John McCoy, in Avilla, Indiana.

Donna enjoyed needlepoint, reading, mushroom hunting, watching SyFy movies, and visiting the cabin in Michigan. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.

Surviving Donna are her husband, John; sister Vicki McNamara; grandchildren Justin Beechy, Jason Beechy, and Brittany Beechy; great grandchildren Jayda, Deacon, Rylie, Wyatt, Kynslie, Alice, Oliver, and Rowan; and best friend Karen Bennett-Volond.

Preceding Donna in death are her parents Donald and Mary Smart, daughter Kimberly Dawn, and sister Barb (Smart) Altimus.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30am, Monday, August 3, 2026, at Harper Funeral Homes, Albion Chapel, 771 Trail Ridge Road, Albion. Pastor Bret Frymier will officiate. Burial will take place following the funeral service at Christian Chapel Cemetery, in Albion, Indiana. Visitation will be held from 3:00pm to 5:00pm, Sunday, August 2, 2026, at the funeral home. Visitation will also be held from 10:00am until the time of the funeral service on Monday, August 3, 2026.
