ALBION - David (Dave) Canady, 53, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Albion, IN on January 24, 2021. Born on August 16, 1967 in E. Chicago, IN he was the son of Marsha Canady and Gerald (Jerry) Canady.
Dave was a proud member of the IN/KY/OH Regional Council of Carpenters Local 232 for over 28 years. During his apprenticeship he earned the esteemed Golden Hammer Award also serving in numerous capacities throughout his membership with the carpenters union. Dave enjoyed cooking while watching football and rooting for the Chicago Bears, although often disappointed, he remained a loyal fan. If he wasn’t busy with his own home improvements you could find him helping one of his many friends with their construction projects over the years. Dave was always willing to lend a helping hand.
Surviving are his mother, Marsha Canady, stepfather Tom Pape, stepbrothers Tommy (Lori) Pape, Michael Pape, and Jeff (Babs) Ross, stepson David (Susan) Simpson, stepdaughter Theresa Simpson and 3 grandchildren. His uncles George (Rita) Fiegle, John (Hazel) Canady, his aunt Sue Ozelie. Also surviving are lifelong friends, Mike Brown and Darryl Smith and loving friend Sue Canady. Preceding him in death were his father and stepmother, Jerry and Ethel Canady and sister, Pamela Easley.
A gathering to celebrate Dave’s life will be held on April 10, 2021 at the Carpenters Local 232 at 1520 Profit Dr. Ft. Wayne, IN 46808 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm as well as one for family and close friends in Highland, IN on April 9, 2021 at Langel’s Pizza 2833 Highway Ave. Highland, IN from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm In lieu of flowers please send donations to Carpenters Caring 771 Greenwood Springs Dr. Greenwood, IN 46143.
