Darlene Sue Gonser, 81, of Kendallville, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, in Kendallville, Indiana. She was born on January 10, 1944, to Lawrence and Mildred (Murphy) Campbell, in Albion, Indiana. Darlene married Terry Gonser in 1990, in Auburn, Indiana.
Darlene was a creative person. She wrote poems, some of which were published. Darlene also enjoyed making jewelry, and painting. She collected elephant figurines and loved her dogs and cats.
Surviving Darlene are her children Larry (Jennifer) Evans, of Corunna, Indiana, Doug Evans, of Garrett, Indiana, and Tawnya Evans, of Fort Wayne, Indiana; grandchildren Whitney (Cory) Evans, Lake (Natalie) Evans, Brooke (Andrew) Evans, Sage (Dylan) Vandezande, and Gabe Evans; and great-grandchildren Ian Vandezande and Rudy Vandezande.
Preceding Darlene in death are her parents Lawrence and Mildred Campbell, husband Terry Gonser, and brother Richard Campbell.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00pm, Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Harper Funeral Homes, Albion Chapel, 771 Trail Ridge Road, Albion. Pastor Mike Albaugh will officiate. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery, in Albion. Visitation will be held from 11:00am to 1:00pm, Saturday, January 10, 2026, at the funeral home.
