Curtis Alan Lohr, 60, of Kendallville, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. He was born on November 13, 1964, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Hilda Gutwein Bell and the late Robert Fredrick Lohr.
Curtis’s passing is an unexpected and heartbreaking loss. He treasured time with his teenage son, Ty, his dog, Scooby, and his best friend, Travis Grocock. Together, they enjoyed attending auctions, working on power sports equipment, riding motorcycles, and fishing.
Curtis is survived by his children: Ty Curtis Lohr, at home; his mother, Hilda (Tom) Bell of Weeki Wachee, Florida; his brother, Tommy Bell of Weeki Wachee, Florida; and his sister, Teresa Bell Brown of Tega Cay, South Carolina. He is also survived by his stepchildren, Katelyn (Michael) Meyer of Avilla and Drew (Jordan) Meyer of Fort Wayne; his former wife, Susan Armstrong of Kendallville (mother of Ty).
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Fredrick Lohr, in 2008.
Curtis will be laid to rest at 1:00pm, Saturday, August 30, 2025. A small graveside gathering will be held at Avilla Cemetery, 101 Cherry Street, Avilla, Indiana. All are welcome to join.
Memorials may be made in Curtis’s memory to a fund established for his son Ty’s future education.
