Cecil Shank Jr

ALBION — Cecil Shank Jr., 89, of Albion, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 29, 2023, at his home.

Cecil was born on Nov. 7, 1933, to Cecil and Irene (Moran) Shank in LaOtto, Indiana.

He was a U.S. Army veteran and later retired, at 49 years of age, from Fort Wayne Dana.

Cecil bought his family farm in 1965. In 1994, he tore down an old barn on the property and built his own home. In his retirement he loved to sing karaoke and enjoyed gardening and having fruit trees. He was a member of the Eagles and the American Legion.

He is survived by his son, Jerry Shank, of Avilla; daughters, Karen McKinney, of Albion and Connie (Fred) Langohr, of Albion; brothers, Sam Shank, of Avilla, and John (Kay) Shank, of St. Joe; sisters, Fay Ries, of LaOtto and Julia (Ed) Snyder, of Hicksville, Ohio; and grandchild, Brett McKinney, of Arizona.

Cecil was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Rusty Shank; infant brother, Tommy Shank, Kenneth “Bud” Shank and William Shank; sisters, Mert Secrish, Wilma Hess, Ara Jeen Knappand, Marcille Woodbury and Jerron Edsall; and daughter-in-law Tonya (Perkins) Shank.

At Cecil’s request, no services will be held.
