Carolyn Elaine Savoie, 80, passed away on Thursday, May 23, 2024, in Albion, Indiana. She was born on October 19, 1943, to James and Mary Alice (Watts) Johnson, in Alexandria, Louisiana. On April 9, 1977, Carolyn married Larry Savoie, in Logansport, Indiana.
Carolyn graduated from Logansport High School and Indiana Business College. She was in the Women’s Army Corps, where she was an instructor for the soldiers. She loved to ride motorcycles with Larry to the Upper Peninsula. She collected penguins, and loved spending time with the grand, and great-grandchildren. Carolyn was also a member of the Logansport VFW Post 3790.
Surviving Carolyn are her daughters Linda (Charles) Wood-German, of Burnettsville, Indiana, Patricia “Trisha/ Patty” (Chris Teeter) Lee, of Albion, Indiana, Barbara Lee-Amsden, of Columbia City, Indiana; step children Chuck Savoie, Cindy Ferguson, Lenay Snowman, Lelund Savoie; grandchildren Joleine (Michael) Horn, James (Miranda) Cole, Jonathan Cole, David (Peri) German, Phillip German, Chelsey (Kelly) Holcomb, Joseph (Carrie) German, Carolyn (Jessica) Amsden, Brittany Teeter, Aaliyah Teeter, Ben Teeter; great-grandchildren Aidenn, Logan, Elena, Alli, Lexi, Abbie, Mary Ellen, Calvin, Averie, Jennifer, Blaise, Corbin, Elizabeth, Micaiah, Amelia, and Martha.
Preceding Carolyn in death are her parents, husband, sisters Betty Samuels and Judy Malloy-Savoie, and stepson Danny Savoie.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00am, Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 2290 N State Road 9, Albion. Father Steele will celebrate mass.
Visitation will be held from 4-8pm, on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at Harper Funeral Home, Albion Chapel, 771 Trail Ridge Road, Albion.
Carolyn will be laid to rest with military honors at Rose Hill Cemetery, Albion.
Memorials in Carolyn’s memory may be made to Disabled American Veterans.
