Bonnie L. Van Wey, 91, of Fort Wayne, died Sunday, Jan. 22, 2023, at home surrounded by family. Born Jan. 30, 1931, in Fort Wayne, she was the middle child of Lawrence and Cecilia (Anderson) Cuney. Bonnie graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1948. She married Donald Van Wey in 1950 and had three children. She worked 30 years for GTE as a Toll Operator, retiring in 1990.
She is survived by daughter, Coleen Klender of Grabill, Ind.; son-in-law, Joseph Tolomay of New Haven, Ind.; brother, Donald (Arlene) Cuney of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Gina (Mark) Weidemeier, Joseph Tolomay, Anthony Tolomay, Daniel (Kelly Holt) Tolomay, Keith Tolomay, and Nicole Klender; seven great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Deborah Tolomay; son, Philip Van Wey; and brother, Richard Cuney.
Funeral service is 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 27, 2023, at Lindenwood Cemetery, Bohn Chapel, 2324 W. Main St., Fort Wayne, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial at Lindenwood Cemetery.
Preferred memorials to Fort Wayne Animal Care and Control or Salvation Army.
