Billy Edward Huelsenbeck, age 88, of Avilla, died Thursday, January 3, 2019 at Chandler Place, Kendallville. Billy was born August 4, 1930 in Avilla to Edward Martin and Bessie Ada (Rauh) Huelsenbeck. They preceded him in death. Billy worked on the New York Central and B & O Railroads from 1952-1959. He then went on to work the next 37 years as a machine operator for Borg-Warner/ Auburn Gear – retiring in 1995. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant Lutheran Church near Kendallville.
Billy is survived by several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Edward Martin and Bessie Ada Huelsenbeck; brothers: Harold Huelsenbeck, Hershel Huelsenbeck; sister: Lois Pfafman.
Services will take place at 11 a.m. Monday, January 7, 2019 at Harper Funeral Home, Avilla Chapel, 530 N. Main St., Avilla, with Pastor Phyllis Smoot of Mt. Pleasant Lutheran Church officiating.
Visitation will take place from 10 – 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Burial will take place in Lindenwood Cemetery, Ft. Wayne.
Memorials are to Mt. Pleasant Lutheran Church.
