Ben Hines Lemmon

Albion - Ben Hines Lemmon, 90, of Albion, passed away on Wednesday Jan 31, 2018 at his home.  He was born on June 10, 1927 in Albion to the late Charles and Fern (Hines) Lemmon.  A graduate of the Albion High School, Mr. Lemmon served in the US Marine Corp.  On Jan 9, 1949, in Albion, he married Martha Ellen Luther.  She preceded him in death on June 18, 2014.  He was a life-long area farmer, being semi-retired from Lemmon Farms.  He was a member many organizations, including the American Legion, Pork Producers, Central Noble School Board, and the Soil & Water Conservation District.  "Popeye", as he was nicknamed, could fix anything.  He also enjoyed his flowers.  He leaves behind his children, Micheal (Denise) Lemmon of Albion, Gary (Kim) Lemmon of Indianapolis, Charlie (Karen) Lemmon of Albion, and Cynthia (Marvin) Bozard of Coldwater.  Also surviving are 16 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren;  and sister Harriet Hass of Ft. Wayne.  In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by brothers Bert and Robert, and sisters Vera and Ruth.  A Celebration of Life will be held at 4:00pm on Sunday February 4, 2018 at Harper Funeral Homes, 771 Trail Ridge Road, Albion, with Pastor Doug Keenan officiating.  Visitation will be held from 1:00pm to 4:00pm Sunday at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Mr. Lemmon's name to Central Noble Food Pantry or Parkview Noble Hospice.  To leave online condolences, visit www.harperfuneralhomes.com.
