AVILLA — Ami Sue Arnett, 47, of Avilla, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2025, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. She was born on Jan. 10, 1978, in Auburn, Indiana, to Chris and Laenise (Barden) Arnett. She was an East Noble High School graduate and went on to earn her degree in nursing. Being a nurse and caring for others was at the center of Ami’s life, until being unable to continue due to her own health reasons.
Ami was never seen without a Diet Coke (or two). She enjoyed going to the casino and would often be found there with her mom before her passing in 2023. Ami also loved to shop and spend time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her children, Audrey (Natalie Halferty) Fulford, of Fort Wayne and Noah Fulford, of Bloomington, Indiana; father, Chris Arnett, of Avilla; siblings, Chris (Linda Collins) Arnett Jr., of Avilla, Alexis (Gavin Leibowitz) Reed, of Lebanon, Indiana, and Courtnei (Andrew Ley) Reed, of Huntertown, Indiana. Also surviving are many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Ami was preceded in death by her mother, Laenise Arnett; grandparents, Gaylord Barden, Yvonne Payne and Earl and Bessie Arnett; and uncle, Kenny Barden Sr.
