Kendallville - Rosalie "Rose" June (Smart) Wilson, 80, passed away peacefully at Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home on Monday Sept 3, 2018 following a lengthy illness. She had most recently resided at Lutheran Life Villages in Kendallville. Rose was born in Kendallville on March 3, 1938 to Clifton and Margaret (Musselman) Smart. On April 24, 1954, she married Paul Thomas Wilson in a double ring ceremony with her brother, Donald Leroy Smart and Mary Lou Wolf. Her parents, a brother, Kenny, and her husband preceded her in death.
Rose is survived by two sons, Kris of Sebring, FL, and Kerry (Sally) of Albion, a daughter, Lori (Dan) Gagen of Albion, six grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and three siblings, Donald (Roberta) Smart of Kendallville, Judy (John) Russell of LaGrange, and Jerry (Sue) Smart of Wolcottville.
Paul and Rose raised their family in Albion before relocating to Sebring, FL in retirement. Rose was moved back to Noble County by her family in February 2016. The Wilson's enjoyed making a lifetime of memories with so many friends and family throughout Noble County and enjoyed traveling. Several summer vacations were shared mushroom hunting in Michigan and fishing in Wisconsin.
Per Rose's request, there will be no services. Contributions in her memory may be directed to Black Pine Animal Sanctuary or Lutheran Life Villages.
