Avilla - Philip M. Vance, 51, of Avilla, passed away on Sunday April 1, 2018 in Avilla. He was born on Sept 9, 1966 in Fort Wayne to the Glen and Marie (Libersa) Vance. He had been employed with the Indiana Department of Transportation for many years. He enjoyed his animals, especially caring for his goats and dogs. He also was a member of the Noble County Gas & Steam Engine Club. Philip is survived by his mother, Marie Vance of Kendallville, brother, Albert (Dixie) Vance of Albion, sisters, Collette Vance of Ft. Wayne, Colleen Vance of Ft. Wayne, and Michele Hicks of Hamilton. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Glen, and sister, Gisele. Funeral Service will be 11:00am Saturday April 7, 2018 at Lutheran Life Villages Chapel, 351 N Allen Chapel Road, Kendallville, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Chaplain Peter Meneghello will officiate. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, Avilla. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Philip's name may be directed to the Humane Society of Noble County or Calvary United Methodist Church Food Pantry.
