James H. Curtis

James H. "Jim" Curtis, 93, of Albion, went to be with his Lord and his dear wife, Jean, Friday, June 15, 2018 at North Ridge Village.

He was born on April 10, 1925 and raised in Albion, Indiana. During WWII he joined the Army Air Force and after basic training he was assigned to a B-24 Bomber Squadron as a navigator.

After the war ended he returned to Albion and on October 13, 1946 married Eleanor "Jean" McCullick from Kendallville. 

Jim and Jean owned a Studebaker dealership in Kendallville and over the years Jim sold cars for various dealers including Leatherman Bros. Ford. In the 1970's the couple started their own vehicle wholesale business, Kendallville Auto Sales. Jim was a member of the American Legion Post 246 and the Masonic Lodge and Trinity Methodist Church. 

He is survived by his two daughters, Kathy Bixler of Skinner Lake and Victoria (Bruce) Pfeiffer of Fort Wayne. Two grandsons, Jason (Andrea) Pfeiffer, of Twinsburg, Ohio and Andrew (Danell) Bixler, of Louisville, Ky. Six great-grandchildren, Zachary Pfeiffer, Katie Pfeiffer, Alex Sindelar, Sierra Bixler, Sierra Jones, Christian Bixler, and one great-great grandson, Brantlee Pfeiffer. He was preceded in death by beloved wife Jean on December 8, 2014, and his parents, Pansy M. and Harold V. Curtis.

 Memorial Services will be at 12pm on Monday, June 25, 2018, at Harper Funeral Homes, Albion Chapel, 771 Trail Ridge Road, Albion, with visitation from 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. Burial of ashes with Military Honors will take place at Rose Hill Cemetery.  Contributions to honor Jim's life may be directed to the Albion American Legion post #246.
