Albion - Hazel E Truelove, 89, of Albion, passed away on Saturday November 3, 2018 at Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home in Fort Wayne. She was born on July 2, 1929 in Green Township Noble County to the late Nelson and Wildah (Zumbrun) Brown. On Oct 4, 1949 in Columbia City, she married Kay Truelove. He preceded her in death on May 4, 2015. Hazel was very active in her church, Mt. Pleasant Lutheran Church, and served as the church organist for 65 years. She was also involved with the high school choir and the Noble County Chorus, accompanying them with her musical talent. She enjoyed giving piano lessions, often teaching generations of the same family. Her interests included spending time with her family, reading, crossword puzzles, watching basketball, and keeping an eye on her favorite baseball teams, the Yankees and the Cubs. She leaves behind her children, a son, Larry (Wanda) Truelove of Albion; daughters, Karen (Gerald) Coons of Orangeburg, SC, Jill (Donny) Lamb of Lakeland, FL, and Jan (Marc) Norris of Albion. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; and a sister Mary Esther Mills of Amarillo, TX. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Lindsie Truelove; and a sister, Ruth Anna Young. Funeral service is 11:00am Friday Nov 9, 2018 at Mt. Pleasant Lutheran Church, Kendallville, with visitation one hour prior. Pastor Phyllis Smoot officiating. Visitation also from 4-8pm Thursday Nov 8, 2018 at Harper Funeral Homes, Albion Chapel, 771 Trail Ridge Road, Albion. Burial at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
