ALBION — David G. Davis, 82, of Albion, passed away on Wednesday August 16, 2017, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.

He was born on May 9, 1935, in Elkhart to the late Wayne and Ruth (Grimm) Davis. On June 10, 1972, in Albion, he married Nila Moore. She survives in Albion.

He was an over-the-road truck driver as an owner and operator for over 30 years, making runs from coast to coast. Following his truck driving years, he worked at Guardian and served as a crossing guard for Central Noble. David loved music, traveling, and was especially fond of trains. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his kids and grandkids.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters Kerri (Louie) Tropf of Vero Beach, Florida, and Melinda (Carl) Smith of Auburn; sons Michael Davis of Albion, and David Davis Jr. of Park City, Utah; grandchildren Brandy (Jason) Myers, Stefanie (Spencer) Steck, Marcus Smith, Aidan Smith and Kyleigh Davis; and great-grandchildren Niko Steck, Pyper Steck, Hadley Steck and Colin Myers.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, William, James and John.

Funeral Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday August 22, 2017, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 707 N. Orange St., Albion, with visitation from 9 a.m. until time of service on Tuesday. Pastor Bret Frymier will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Albion.
