Albion - Alden "Al" Myers, 79, of Albion, passed away on Tuesday September 12, 2017 at North Ridge Village Nursing Home in Albion.  He was born on August 27, 1938 in Hayworth, IL to the late Harrison & Susie (Tory) Myers.  Al received his undergraduate degree from Huntington University and later his Masters degree from Butler University in Indianapolis.  On March 25, 1967 in Howe, IN he married Karen Ramer.  He taught at Lima High School in Howe for four years, before teaching at Wolf Lake and retiring from Central Noble in 1998 after 37 years in education.  He taught various subjects over the years including business and driver training.  He also developed the tech program at Central Noble.  He was very active in the community, belonging to the Albion Lions Club, was a coach and referee, and a member and former president of the Tri-State Officials Association.  Al enjoyed many hobbies including Notre Dame football and basketball, having season tickets to the games.  He also enjoyed golfing, hunting, and his beagle dogs.  He was a former member of Asbury United Methodist Church in Albion and is currently a member of Sugar Grove Church of God, just north of Churubusco.  Al leaves behind his wife, 50 years, Karen Myers of Albion, a sister, Marjorie Coffin of Indianapolis, brothers-in-law, Duane (Glenda) Ramer of Brownsburg, IN, Kevin Ramer of La Grange, Stephan (Johnna) Ramer of Plymouth, and David Ramer of New Haven.  Also surviving are many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by two brothers, Myles Myers and Delmar Myers, 2 sisters, Elsie Fowler and Dorothy Myers, and a nephew, John Coffin III.  Funeral services will be 11:00am Monday September 18, 2017 at Sugar Grove Church of God, 5019 E 500 S Churubusco, IN, with visitation one hour prior to service.  Pastor Tim Grable will officiate.  Visitation also from 2:00pm until 7:00pm on Sunday September 17, 2017 at Harper Funeral Homes, Albion Chapel, 771 Trail Ridge Road, Albion.  Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery, Albion.  Memorials to Humane Society of Noble County or Sugar Grove Church of God.  To leave online condolences, visit www.harperfuneralhomes.com
