Jean M Grocock

Jean M Grocock, 89, of Avilla, passed away on January 26, 2024, at Chandler Place, in Kendallville. She was born on December 17, 1934, to Gerald and Mable (Davis) Faylor, in Allen County, IN. Jean married Guy Grocock on June 15, 1957, at the LaOtto Lutheran Church.

Jean graduated from Avilla High School and worked at Eaton Controls, as a payroll specialist, until her retirement. She was a member of the American Legion Post 240 Auxiliary.

Surviving Jean are her sons Jimmy (Rita) Grocock, of Avilla, and Steven (Sharon) Grocock, of Murfreesboro, TN; and sister Linda (Elbert) Castle of Columbia City, IN. Also surviving are grandchildren Jeff Grocock, Dave Grocock, Travis Grocock, Taylor Jones, Erika Jones; great-grandchildren Dylan Grocock, Alexia Grocock, Mea Grocock, Madonna Grocock, Wrigley Grocock, Jayce Grocock, Abigail Jones, Lillian Jones, Summer Grocock, Walker Jones, and Jaxson Jones.

Proceeding Jean in death are her husband, Guy; parents Gerald and Mable; and brother Robert Faylor.

Funeral service will be at 11:00am, Thursday, February 1, 2024, at Harper Funeral Homes, Avilla Chapel, 530 N Main St, Avilla. Tom Novy will officiate. Visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00pm Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Eel River Cemetery, Churubusco, IN.

Memorial in Jean’s memory may be made to the American Legion Post 240.
