Donnie Melvin

Donnie H. Melvin, 73, of Albion, Indiana, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2024, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.  He was born on Oct 11, 1950, in Kendallville, Indiana, to Homer and Vera (Eckels) Melvin.

He was a farmer for most of his life and enjoyed hunting and being outdoors. He loved hanging out with his cats.

On Jan. 8, 1977, at Trinity Church, he married Allegra Keister

Survivors include his wife, Allegra Melvin, of Albion; daughter, Holly Melvin, of Kendallville; and sister, Bonnie (Tom) Marks, of Albion.  He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Van Alton Melvin and Kenneth Melvin.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., on Monday, Feb 26, 2024, at Harper Funeral Homes, Albion Chapel, 771 Trail Ridge Road.  Pastor Bret Frymier will officiate.  Visitation will also be held on Monday from 11 a.m., until time of the funeral service.

Burial will be at Rehobeth Cemetery, rural Albion.
