Albion - Robert G. "Bob" Coil, 83, of Albion, passed away on Tuesday April 11, 2017 at North Ridge Village Nursing Home in Albion.  He was born on May 8, 1933 in Garrett to Harold and Dona (Marker) Coil.  Bob was raised by his grandparents, Ted and Fannie Marker, and graduated Avilla High School in 1951.  He was a US Army Veteran, stationed in Germany during the Korean War.  Following his military service, he married Helen Elser on July 13, 1957.  She survives.  He worked at Dana Corporation as a machinist for 32 years, retiring in 1994.  He had many hobbies, including fishing, wood working, gardening, jigsaw puzzles, scuba diving, and was a race car driver at many local race tracks.  Bob was a 60 year member of the Albion American Legion Post #246 and VFW Wolf Lake Post.  Survivors include his wife, Helen Coil, of Albion, brothers, Dennis (Alberta) Coil of Albion, and James Coil of Muncie.  He was preceded in death by his son, David Coil in 2007, a sister, Margaret Hosler, and a brother, Harold Coil.  Funeral Service will be 11:00am Tuesday April 18, 2017 at Trinity United Methodist Church, 706 N Orange St., Albion, with visitation one hour prior.  Pastor Bret Frymier, officiating.  Visitation also from 2-4 & 6-8pm Monday April 17, 2017 at Harper Funeral Home, Albion Chapel, 771 Trail Ridge Road, Albion.  Burial with military honors will be at Sparta Cemetery, Kimmell.  Memorial contributions in Bob's name may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, or American Legion Post #246.  To leave online condolences, visit www.harperfuneralhomes.com
