Nathan C. Kostielney, 31, of Avilla, passed away on Saturday May 27, 2017 in Attica, IN, as a result of an ATV accident.  He was born on July 30, 1985 to Stanley Kostielney and Sue (Truelove) Rieke.  He graduated from East Noble High School in 2004, where he was "All State" linebacker for East Noble Football, and was a member of the baseball team.  Nathan graduated in 2013 from IU with a bachelor of science degree in Athletic Training.  He was employed with Lutheran Orthopedic Hospital as an athletic trainer, and worked with Central Noble High School as an athletic trainer.  He loved sports, especially the Chicago Cubs and IU sports.  He enjoyed mushroom hunting, riding his ATV, and was a member of the Sons of the American Legion Avilla Post #240.  Survivors include his father Stan (Janet) Kostielney of Hudson and mother, Sue (Brian) Rieke of Waterloo, brother, Matthew (Sharla Riley) Kostielney, step brothers, Bennett Rieke, Paul J. Woods, and Josh Reynolds, and stepsister, Brittany (Billy) Melchi.  Also surviving are aunts, Sandi (Dave Spiers) Truelove, and Sharon (Dave) Effinger; and cousins, Danette Heronemus, Christopher Heronemus, Dave Grocock, Jeff Grocock, and Brittany Fend.  Nathan was preceded in death by a stepbrother, Lukas Rieke, who passed away on May 15, 2017, his paternal grandparents, Dutch and Emma Kostielney, and maternal grandparents, Albert and Charlotte Truelove.  Funeral Service is 2:00pm Saturday June 3, 2017 at Harper Funeral Homes, Avilla Chapel, 530 N Main St., Avilla, with visitation one hour prior.  Pastor James Kemerly officiating.  Visitation also from 4:00pm-7:00pm Friday June 2, 2017 at the funeral home.  Burial will be at Hooper-King Cemetery, outside Avilla.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Nate's memory be directed to Avilla Youth Sports.  To leave online condolences, visit www.harperfuneralhomes.com
